The three jobs a pool needs over its life, done by one Chandler crew rather than three companies who each blame the other two.

About Us

Our Story

Sonoran Blue Pool Co. started in Chandler in 2011, doing weekly service on a single route across the East Valley. The repair side came about the way it usually does — a technician who is at the same pool every week is the first person to notice a pump starting to whine or a filter pressure creeping up, and it made no sense to hand that off to somebody else and let the customer wait a week.

The remodel side grew out of the same logic. After enough years of servicing pools whose plaster was chalking and whose tile had vanished under calcium, it was obvious that the honest answer for a lot of those pools was not another season of chemicals — it was a new surface. We would rather be the ones to say so, and then be the ones who do it properly and manage the water chemistry through the cure.

Our Process

How We Work

Four steps from the first call to a finished job, whether it is a weekly route or a full backyard remodel.

01

Free On-Site Estimate

We come out, look at the pool, the equipment pad and the deck, talk through what you actually want, and leave you a written quote at no cost and no obligation.

02

A Plan That Fits the Pool

Service routes get a fixed day and a fixed scope. Repairs get a diagnosis before a quote. Remodels get a written scope, a materials selection and a realistic schedule.

03

The Work, Done Properly

Our own crew, on time, with the right equipment. We protect your deck and landscaping, keep the site clean, and tell you the moment anything looks different from the plan.

04

Walkthrough and Handover

We walk the finished work with you, show you how to run any new equipment, leave the area clean, and hand over your warranty paperwork before we go.

No pressure and no surprise add-ons — the number on the written quote is the number you pay.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions About Pool Care in the Phoenix Area

Straight answers to what Valley pool owners actually ask us.

Weekly, year-round, for almost every pool in the Valley. That is not an upsell — it is what the climate does. Summer water temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s, direct sun for most of the day, and heavy bather load all burn through free chlorine far faster than in a mild climate, and evaporation concentrates the minerals left behind. Skipping to every other week in June or July is usually how a clear pool turns green. Winter demand drops, but it never drops to zero here the way it does in a freeze climate — our pools do not close.
Monsoon storms run from roughly mid-June through September, and they are the single hardest thing on a Valley pool. A haboob drops a visible layer of dust and fine grit into the water; the wind that comes with it strips leaves, palm debris and landscape gravel in behind it. That debris loads the skimmer and pump baskets, blinds the filter, and consumes chlorine as it breaks down. After a big storm a pool often needs an extra visit — net it out, empty the baskets, clean the filter and re-shock — and we would rather do that than let it turn.
That is calcium scale, and it is a hard-water problem, not a cleaning problem. Phoenix-area municipal water is genuinely hard, and as pool water evaporates in the heat the calcium left behind concentrates and deposits at the waterline where the water meets the tile. Ordinary brushing will not shift it once it hardens. It comes off with a proper tile clean — bead or glass-bead blasting for heavy build-up — and it comes back more slowly when calcium hardness and saturation are actually being managed week to week.
In practice, yes, if you are replacing it. Federal efficiency standards for dedicated-purpose pool pumps took effect in July 2021, and most single-speed replacement pumps above a small horsepower threshold can no longer be manufactured for sale. The upside is real: a variable-speed pump run long and slow filters better and uses a fraction of the electricity of an old single-speed run on a short high-speed schedule — which matters when you are running it through an Arizona summer.
White plaster typically gives you somewhere in the range of 8 to 12 years in this climate; pebble and quartz finishes commonly run 15 to 20 or more. What actually decides it is water chemistry. A pool that spent years with aggressive or scaling water will fail early no matter what the finish was rated for. The tells that it is time are a surface that feels rough or chalky underfoot, spreading stains that will not brush out, and exposed aggregate or visible grey patches where the finish has worn through.
The whole pool area. Resurfacing, tile and coping are the core of most remodels, but we also do decking in travertine and pavers, shade ramadas, outdoor kitchens, fire features, sheer descents and other water features, LED lighting, and the equipment upgrades that usually make sense to do at the same time. One thing to plan for early: if a remodel changes your fencing, gates or door hardware, Arizona has state and city pool-barrier requirements — we will flag it during the estimate and point you at your city's current code.
